LEED Platinum building tour and USGBC DRC general membership meeting (with special Advocacy Presentations via Peggy Matta, Green Schools Advocacy Chair, Ian Tran, Advocacy Chair and Paulette Alioa) 10/22.

TOUR A LEED PLATINUM BUILDING IN DETROIT! 10/22 6-8pm Larry K. Lewis Education Center - WCCCD Northwest Campus, Detroit The latest addition to the Northwest Campus is the Larry K. Lewis Education Center. The new 90,000 sq. ft. Academic Building houses 31 classrooms, computer labs, a 133 seat lecture hall, and a Media Center. The new building is slated to be a LEED Platinum building when certified. It uses geothermal heating/cooling, a "Gray" water system, solar panels for hot water and electricity and has a "Green" roof.  Hear from the architects, engineers, contractor and owner on the LEED process. If you need CEU's, self report this tour for 1 credit!
