USGBC in Media this week

Another timely piece – you may recall that Keith Winn and I traveled to D.C. back in July accepting an invitation to attend a business briefing at the White House on Climate Change and the Clean Power Plan.  Business Forward helped us with an op-ed on the benefit of green buildings and it was published in the GR Press today  http://www.mlive.com/opinion/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2015/09/saving_energy_to_save_money_an.html   Of course we talked about LEED and jobs!

Hi all,

A very happy Friday to you! For those who didn't see it, there was an additional Michigan media hit from the report rollout -- an interview with Kevin McNeely on WDET. Please feel free to share if you see fit. Thanks!

Hello again!
The story about the 2015 Green Building Economic Impact Study by Emily Lawler, MLive's statewide business reporter, has run. We're very excited for the projections for Michigan.
We have sent different versions of this email to USGBC-DRC and USGBC-West Michigan, so everyone is covered (we've customized the tweets for each group).

There are at least 5 things everyone can do:
1. Comment on the MLive story itself. This is a big one. We want anyone who sees the story to see the great, supportive green building community that exists in Michigan.
2. Share on LinkedIn
3. Share on Facebook
4. Tweet
5. Retweet USGBC national; the reporter, Emily Lawler; and others (Moonsail North, Scott and I are all also tweeting, to help amplify). More on this below.
Here is one tweet you can use to share the news:

Check out #PureMichigan's impressive #greenbuilding job growth in this great@mlive piece on why #LEEDworks http://bit.ly/1KfXE6Y @usgbc
You can also schedule another tweet with this take, using the attached photo:

Let's talk about #Michigan #greenbuilding growth! Check out this @mlive story => http://bit.ly/1KfXE6Y #LEEDWorks
You can retweet and add hashtags and your own comment:

For Facebook and LinkedIn, you have more room, so you obviously can do the same posts and spell everything out and add more hashtags. As we said in the other email, feel free to reshare again next week and add an #ICYMI hashtag to signal that you're sharing just in case anyone missed the news.

Check out this great piece by MLive's [tag MLive.com] business reporter Emily Lawler about the #greenbuilding #job growth in store for #PureMichigan. #LEEDworks http://www.mlive.com/lansing-news/index.ssf/2015/09/green_construction_bolstering.html

Please don't hesitate to email or text/call if you have questions.

Thanks!
